ACTIVE TIMES/PACE: Central Time; irregular hours. I have several health issues, and some days I can't tag at all. If I haven't tagged back in a while and you want to make sure I got the tag or am still planning to return it, feel free to poke me.
STYLE: No preference between brackets or prose; prefer present tense, but will match past. I also sometimes have trouble keeping up with text threads for long unless they switch to in-person.
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: No gore in picture prompts, no graphic descriptions of gore in tags; no eye trauma; no insects.

IN CHARACTER
VISUAL/AUDIO: PB reference: visual & singing.
PHYSICAL AFFECTION: ✓
Nate's a little touch-starved as a general state of existence, and gets prickly about touch because he wants it more than he'd like to admit, so he might pull away or stare people down. Get through the walls and he's extremely cuddly and kind of grabby, you just gotta get there first.
PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: ✓
He's heavily inclined towards it, though generally not without reason or a contract. No supernatural enhancements and can be overpowered, but he usually has a weapon, and he's very willing to kill if he needs to. Better with weapons than hand-to-hand.
MINDREADING/PSYCHIC ABILITIES: ✓
Fully human, absolutely no blocks or ways to keep people out of his head. Nate is a depressed, self-loathing, passively suicidal mess of a man with an inferiority complex fed into by an abusive upbringing and an extremely questionable first relationship. There's a lot of exhaustion, a lot of sarcastic commentary, and a little bit of 'what's the point' lingering around the edges of his thoughts most of the time. He also tends to fantasize about shooting people who piss him off with the vividness of a man who does exactly that for a living.
MEDICAL INFORMATION: Decent baseline health, but doesn't really take good care of himself. Many scars, but few are particularly notable; active lifestyle; smokes once in a blue moon.
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: Nate grew up in a physically, verbally, and emotionally abusive family, who were also extremely homophobic, and had a very questionable first relationship that fed into a lot of issues as well. He is passively suicidal outside of PSLs where he has someone to take care of himself for. None of this is very likely to come up in conversation, but it may be in the background of tags. He also kills people for a living, and is not inclined to shy away from violence. Nate's two biggest triggers are hurting people he cares about, and making him feel like he's being judged for being inferior, especially when it comes to intelligence; he's likely to lash out either verbally or physically at either one.

RELATIONSHIPS
PLATONIC: ✓
He's better at making friends than you would think; if you can put up with the outer layer of grouchiness and don't make him feel like you're looking down on him, he's pretty willing to hang out with people. He's also inclined to attach to people who really need someone, especially if that person doesn't realize they've been through fucked-up stuff, and gentle himself a lot in order to try and take care of them.
NEGATIVE: ✓
It would not be difficult. He's a little ball of rage who doesn't always hold himself back from lashing out, and also could easily make enemies due to his work.
SHIPPING: ✓
Prefer some build-up to handwaving into an established serious relationship, though casual/FWB-y is doable with less discussion. All genders welcome. Nate has a lot of self-loathing and also some residual issues from his only real relationship; the more he likes someone, the less he feels like he's worthy of them, and this can sometimes make him withdraw despite not wanting to. On the flip side, he's kinda possessive once he settles into a relationship, and while he won't force that onto someone uncomfortable with it, it's unlikely to work out with people particularly uncomfortable with it.

IDEAS AND WANTS
🠚 Nate has a habit of becoming attached to a person or a couple of people who don't really have anyone else and need some caretaking, and in the process, getting better at taking care of himself, because if he's not there to help them, who will? This is basically my favorite dynamic for him, whether platonic or romantic, so if you want to play with it, hit me up.
🠚 "I could make him worse" energy. Nate's been suppressing his own moral compass for so long that he tends to adopt the morality of whoever he's closest to. This often leads to him doing better; I'm super interested in a scenario where this goes the other way.
🠚 Being the outsider in supernatural AUs. Getting in way over his head because either he's attached to someone non-human, or someone he's attached to gets messed around by something supernatural.
🠚 Also possibly interested in being introduced to the supernatural by being turned into a vampire/werewolf/something on those lines and having to deal with it?
🠚 He's inclined towards D/s with no real idea what that actually means. Trip-and-falling into relationships and working it out on the fly or being introduced to actual healthy BDSM by someone who knows more is always fun.
🠚 Working relationships. Criminal friends, criminal enemies, criminal frenemies, criminal "that guy I nod at from across the room"s.
🠚 Always here for hurt/comfort, on either side of the equation.
🠚 Messy endings. Both Nate's job and level of attachment definitely aren't for everyone; I'd love to explore some scenarios where things go badly because of that.
